Erwin is located in Unicoi County, Tennessee. The town was once named Ervin, but due to a typo by the post office officials, the town name was changed to Erwin.  Erwin is surrounded by the beautiful Cherokee National Forest. The town has a total area of 3.5 square miles and has an estimated population of 6,097 people.

Erwin Linear Trail – The Erwin Linear Trail, is a paved flat trail that heads through the Cherokee National Forest. The trail winds through wooded areas past natural ponds and wetland lakes.
