Norton is a independent city located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This town has a population of approximately 3,958 people with a total area of 7.5 square miles. Norton, was originally known as “Prine’s Flots” but was then renamed after the head of the railroad, Mr. Eckstein Norton.

Meador Coal Museum– The museum features exhibits and objects collected by the late Harry Meador Jr., an executive with a local coal company.

Wise County Chamber of Commerce– The Wise County Virginia Chamber of Commerce exists for the purpose of advancing and publicizing the commercial, industrial, agricultural, civic, tourism and general business interests of Wise County and the City of Norton.

Wise County Historical Society– Wise County Historical Society was established in August of 1992 as a result of a small group of 14 individuals meeting 1991 in the cafeteria of the Wise Appalachian Regional Hospital in Wise to discuss the possibility of publishing a book on our county and city heritage.
